I am the author of Amulet, which is a 9 plus fantasy, magical book that includes themes of autism. Amulet was published in 2015 by Candy Jar Books, Cardiff and I was extremely honoured when it was chosen, in 2024, by The Books Council Wales for it’s brilliant foodbank project. I have also written a second 9 plus magical fantasy which is called Maze Thief and features themes of blended family and age appropriate mental health strategies, which I’m hoping to secure a publisher for. I have been able to include these themes from my training as a Camhs practitioner and Learning Disability Nurse. I sought the opinion of the renowned Autism Ambassador Anna Kennedy OBE with Amulet to ensure she was happy with the content and she very kindly wrote a wonderful review, part of which is in the book and the full review can be found on my twitter page.
I also enjoy writing in other genres such as poetry, adult cosy crime and YA but these are a work in progress. I enjoy spending time with other writers by attending a weekly writing class and writing workshops in the Ucheldre in Holyhead. I have just entered the world of YouTube and posted my first video (hopefully of many), details of which can be found on my Twitter page.
