Jane Fraser lives, works and writes fiction in the Gower peninsula, south Wales. Her debut novel ‘Advent’ published by HONNO (2021) won the Society of Authors’ Paul Torday Memorial Prize (2022). Her first collection of short fiction, ‘The South Westerlies’ and second collection, ‘Connective Tissue’ were both published by UK indie SALT (2019 & 2023). She is also winner of the British Haiku Society and Genjuan International Prize for haibun. Her work has been broadcast on BBC Radio 4 ‘Short Works’ series; published in The Lonely Crowd, The London Magazine, TSS, Retreat West; and made the finals of the prestigious Manchester Fiction Prize in 2017. She is proud to be a Hay Festival Writer at Work; to have guested edited The Lonely Crowd short fiction; and to be the Judge for the Rhys Davies Short Story Prize (2023). She has a BEd as a first degree and an MA (distinction 2013) and PhD (2017) from Swansea University. She is represented by Gaia Banks, Literary Agent and Sheil Land Associates.
