Nine years itinerant agricultural worker, sixty years mountain sheep farmer. From 1960 to 1980 prolific writer and broadcaster mainly but not exclusively on farming and rural affairs. Short fiction broadcast and published widely. Work appeared in numerous collections and anthologies. ‘Here for a Month’ (Alun books) a study of the impact of political violence in Northern Ireland winning a John Morgan writing award. A lifelong writer of occasional verse both written and broadcast his ‘Tales from a Mountain Farm’ is selling well despite the restrictions of ‘lock-down’.
