Tom Bullough is the author of four novels and, most recently, Sarn Helen, an exploration of the climate crisis and the Age of Saints which won the 2023 Waterstones Welsh Book of the Year. His next novel, On the Utmost Limits of the Earth, set in 6th-century Wales and Ireland, is forthcoming from Granta Books. Tom’s first feature film (co-written with Josh Hyams) concerns the early life of the actor Richard Burton and will be filmed in June 2024, starring Toby Jones and Lesley Manville. At present, Tom is the Story Associate at Hay Castle, Hay-on-Wye. He lives in Bannau Brycheiniog with two children, a collie and a goldfish.
